Boundaries, Strength, and The Waves We Ride
Hi friend, how have you been?
As the year draws to a close, the weight of work deadlines, toxic family dynamics, and seasonal demands can leave us feeling drained. It’s during these moments that one lesson from my journey resonates deeply:
"Without explicitly setting boundaries, we are consumed by abusive dynamics, uncomfortable dialogues, and overwhelming emotions, all of which we are left alone to deal with. There is a silver lining, though – vulnerability is a source of strength. It is a source of potential. Setting boundaries makes us stronger."
In The Waves We Ride, I share personal and professional moments where I’ve struggled with and learned to set boundaries. As someone who doesn’t enjoy confrontation, I’ve found this process challenging, but I’ve also discovered this:
Boundaries are essential for living an emotionally stable life and feeling grounded. They empower us to protect our peace, allowing us to grow into the best versions of ourselves.
This season, I encourage you to reflect on the boundaries you may need to set. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary. Vulnerability and boundaries go hand in hand; they’re not signs of weakness but rather sources of immense strength and potential.
On another exciting note, I’m thrilled to share that the printed version of my book will officially launch this Friday and will be available on Amazon! This is a dream come true, and I’m so grateful for your support.
To celebrate, I’m hosting a book launch event at the New York Public Library on January 18th, 2025, from 4 to 6 PM. It would mean the world to me to see you there! I’ll share registration details soon.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I hope The Waves We Ride inspires you to find your own strength—through boundaries, self-care, and embracing vulnerability.
With love and gratitude,
Ladyane
